Other than my family, the passion of my life is quilting. An eclectic, I love a wide variety of styles and techniques encompassing both machine and hand work. I am a longarm quilter who can work for you. I enjoy any style, from pantographs to all-over to full custom, ranging from traditional to modern. I love bringing vintage tops to life and am willing to work with a challenging quilt top. Instagram: lyncc_quilts

BOMs Away - An Impressive Compass Rose

Welcome to the Link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!

Where we share what we're doing on a BOM type project
so they don't stall out in UFO-land!
(Linky at the bottom)

Boom!!  The Month 8 work on Neptune's Gift (the red and orange N-S-W-E arms and assembly) yields this amazingly gorgeous compass rose:

It is something like 5 feet across.

I also got all the edges turned on the penultimate set of temperature dots - will get those glue-basted onto their backgrounds this week. No pic, though. The only dots left after these will be the final 5 weeks of the year, which I'll cut out on Jan 1st or 2nd.

~*~*~*~

Have you worked on any BOM type projects recently? We'd love to see your progress!

Kate over at Katie Mae Quilts has joined me in hosting this meet-up, and linking up from either end puts you on the party at both sides

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. I agree that your compass rose is gorgeous! Is that all foundation paper-pieced? The striped fabric (if it is an actual printed stripe) is perfect around the outside of it. Now, will you appliqué it to a background? I'm happy to know you're making a temperature quilt! Aren't they fun? I made mine in 2019 and it will appear in a special display of Temperature Quilts at QuiltCon 2022 in Phoenix, and also in "QuiltCon Magazine." Some people are making a temp quilt each year, but one is enough for me! How about you? Hoping you're anticipating a nice Christmas. Blessings to you and your loved one.
