Other than my family, the passion of my life is quilting. An eclectic, I love a wide variety of styles and techniques encompassing both machine and hand work. I am a longarm quilter who can work for you. I enjoy any style, from pantographs to all-over to full custom, ranging from traditional to modern. I love bringing vintage tops to life and am willing to work with a challenging quilt top. Instagram: lyncc_quilts

BOMs Away - From the Heart

Welcome to the link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!
Where we share what we're doing on a BOM-type project
so they don't stall out in UFO-land!
(Linky at the bottom.)

I finished piecing Devon's Dinner Plate Dahlia, but I'm going to save that for a future time to share.

Tonight, after many weeks, I pulled out the final applique block for my From the Heart BOM and worked on wings while we finished the latest season of Stranger Things:

I haven't done any of my evening handstitching since May. I've been burying my empty-nest blues in pointless phone games during the shows. I was finally finished with having nothing to show for my sit-down time, so it was nice to get back into this work again!

P.S. - We have two openings in the next weeks for someone to host TGIFF on their blog. If you have a finish coming up (project completely finished, or a big stage finished, such as a complicated top or demanding set of blocks), this would be a fun way for you to share it and to have a day where people link up on your blog.
**You do not have to own a link-up subscription, as we managers can provide code for you to use.

If you'd like to host a TGIFF Blog link-up for finishes, you can sign up at this link: TGIFF Hosting SignUps

BOMs Away - Now We're Talkin'!

Welcome to the link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!

Don't you love it when you finally break through all the meticulous foundation work to the point where things start coming together "quickly"?!

This week I started the assembly process on Devon's Dinner Plate Dahlia. It's not actually a quick job, being all precise curved piecing, but it's so very satisfying!

I got this far, stacked in sets of 4:

It's kind of fun to me to work backward, contructing a quilt from the outer border to the center instead of assembling a center and adding the borders. I may just have this quilt top finished for next week's BOM!

BOMs Away - Petals and Spears and a Tip

Welcome to the link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!
Where we share what we're doing on a BOM-type project

(Linky at the bottom.)

This week's BOM harvest -
24 petals paper pieced and 12 curved-9-patch spears:

And a tip for curved piecing that is glue prepped: Keep Sewer's Aid and a speck of felt-like cotton batting on hand so you can swip it down the needle between units. Works wonders at preventing skipped stitches. Also great when stitching/quilting through layers of fusible webbing.

BOMs Away - More Dahlia pieces

Welcome to the link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!
Where we share what we're doing on a BOM-type project
so they don't stall out in UFO-land!
(Linky at the bottom.)

Most of this weekend was "lost" to trimming overgrown chokeberry shrubs and cutting down dead trees (we've lost a bunch of Aspens to some strange tree disease that there's no treatment for  - very sad).

But I did get these sets of pieces put together for Devon's Dahlia quilt:

There are only two more sets of paper piecing left!

Are you guys ready to share some BOM work since you've had two weeks of waiting?!
