Welcome to the link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!
Where we share what we're doing on a BOM-type project
so they don't stall out in UFO-land!

~*~ Linking my red bear up at Jen's January Color Linkup
I'm doing these quilt-as-you-go style. Everything came from my scraps, and yardage from stash for the backing. I'm using a light gray minky for the tummies and muzzles. Love it! I fused it the same way I do normal cotton, except for using a pressing cloth over it. Not sure exactly what size I want to cut these to, either (probably 12x15 in.), so this won't get trimmed until a few more are made.
I also worked a lot on Wind in the Whiskers this weekend. Got these three critters made. . .
. . .and a ton of blossoms, flowers, leaves, etc., traced and cut out. The rest of the remaining 24 little frilly center pieces can wait, though. I'm sick of tiny cutting right now! :)
How about you? Did you get any BOM work done recently?

Kate over at Katie Mae Quilts has joined me in hosting this meet-up,
and linking up from either end puts you on the party at both sides.
Your red bear is adorable! I just love the fabrics. Any child will really love the minky on it too.
ReplyDeleteYou have accomplished SO SO SO MUCH this past week! Holy cow you are on a roll! You are going to get those goals/UFOs all done this year if you can keep up the pace.
Great job on the kitties. You go, Girl.
ReplyDeleteOh my!! That was a lot of fussy cutting to finish those three guys! But they are adorable! So many challenges for the year that I am seeing in blog world. I think I am going to stick with my UFOs and BOMs though. :)
ReplyDeleteYour Sapphire Stars just keeps getting better and better. I love how you are quilting the sections. I don't know how you get so many things done each day. I'm having trouble keeping up with your posts and I know it it takes you longer to actually do the sewing than me just to read posts. lol You won't have any UFOs for much longer at this rate.!!
ReplyDeleteI have never done BOMs, maybe when I retire ... but I am doing this color challenge and in the meantime it has prompted me to make more blocks for future quilts.
