Other than my family, the passion of my life is quilting. An eclectic, I love a wide variety of styles and techniques encompassing both machine and hand work. I am a longarm quilter who can work for you. I enjoy any style, from pantographs to all-over to full custom, ranging from traditional to modern. I love bringing vintage tops to life and am willing to work with a challenging quilt top. Instagram: lyncc_quilts

BOMs Away Monday - 17 Dec 2012 - Fence Construction

Welcome to my Link-Up for BOMs Away Mondays!

We'd love to see the BOM you're working on lately.
This week's link-up is at the bottom of this post.

Holy Smokes. This fence border takes F O R E V E R!

One side finished!

And the center is all together now:

The other fence sides are in sets of various stages.

I "tent" 10 posts at a time, and run everything through the next stage in sets, so at any given time there are a few at each stage. I just can't sit there and do alllllll the tenting and then alllll the adding a rail piece, etc., ad nauseum.  This way it bores me less, and the growing pieces give me the gratification boost to keep trucking on the worst of the mundanity.

What have you guys done on BOMs or interval projects lately? Weeklies are welcome along with regular projects that you’ve broken into monthly units, and –of course- true BOMs.   Share your eye candy and show off your progress since the last time you linked up! There are some wonderful monthly and weekly projects going on out there. :D

  4. Your aversion to the mundane is completely understandable, and I totally approve of your approach. It's going to be a lovely finish with that fence around it. Your tree and bay room look really pretty too.

  5. I think this is just darling! I have a hard time with repetitive piecing too, I'm going to keep your approach in mind next time I get stuck in a part of a project that I'm not enjoying.
