Other than my family, the passion of my life is quilting. An eclectic, I love a wide variety of styles and techniques encompassing both machine and hand work. I am a longarm quilter who can work for you. I enjoy any style, from pantographs to all-over to full custom, ranging from traditional to modern. I love bringing vintage tops to life and am willing to work with a challenging quilt top. Instagram: lyncc_quilts

BOMs Away - Grand Illusion part 1 & Kelly's Strolling the Block

Welcome to the Link-Up for BOMs Away Mondays!
We'd love to see the BOM you're working on lately.
This week's link-up is at the bottom of the post.

Fourth-Sundays are supposed to be "Wind in the Whiskers" days, but I didn't have access to the work space area where I normally let that process do its explosion. So I Frankensteined batting pieces together to be able to pin-baste Kelly's "Strolling the Block" quilt.

Also, Bonnie Hunter's 2014 Mystery Quilt: Grand Illusion started up this Friday, and for the first time in 5 years of watching all the fun, I jumped in. It'll slip in with my weekly BOM work over the next couple of months.  Here's the Monday link-up for folks who are participating:

I have completely finished 3/5 of the broken dish units, my additional HSTs are set aside for later clues, and the last 2/5 of the broken dishes are halfway finished.

And I think I'll be going with this group of greens, although that middle one is photographing super weird. It does have a more olive tinge than the others, but nothing like the contrast that appears here - actually, that's the same fabric peeking out down in the bottom left corner, and that's what it looks like compared to the others. So strange what the camera does with color sometimes!!

Everything is from stash.  :)

I have about half of the first-clue units finished. It's been a fun holiday with lots of family time. Quilting work gets interrupted frequently for things like Parcheesi games on top of my cutting mat. (See my Grand Illusion extra HSTs hanging out with the kids?) I'm not complaining! I love the laughter and melodramatic pouting.  :D

Gearing up for Christmas, now! Let us know if you've done any BOM work lately.
