Woohoo!!  Last night I turned in my last paper for the semester, which means this week I can concentrate on house stuff and actually do a little sewing (none to show as this was my finals week). I hope you got to do some.  SEWING, that is! (Not finals)    ;D

I finally have some quilt work progress! (only because they wanted me to explain Back-Basting Applique at my last guild meeting, but hey!)

Prepped the first three blocks for my "Affairs of the Heart." 


This is a quilt by Aie Rossman. Quite stunning. You can do it as a BOM with various shops, or get the book and do it on your own. 

Had to get creative on how to trace the designs onto the back of pure BLACK fabric:

Basted on the first round of pieces:

And stitched a wee bit of a piece on each block so that folks could pass them around and see what the technique looks like in-progress:

And that's all there is this week!

Let me just say - It's a GOOD thing we started as early as we did!!  Packing a house that 5 creative people lived in for a generation is CRAZY when you're working on an advanced degree.

Did you have a nice Easter? Our weekend was gobbled up doing a massive over-haul of the garage for moving prep. Couldn't have had a nicer day for it!  (of course, that made it hard to ignore the call of the beach. . .)

If you've never lived in Florida, you might not understand just how cram-packed garages can get. No basements here means most garages turn into storage, not car homes. Ours was a nasty jumbled mess. Thanks to the two cuties below, it's all sorted out into "put in storage" "garage sale" and "leave for the next owners" (namely, the huge stack of hurricane shutters back behind the wagon).  

Gotta love band kiddos who need to earn money for their
trip to the Macy's Parade! These two are AWESOME workers.

It's also painted!  :D

Hopefully you managed to get some BOM sewing done this week. I've *got* to find time to accomplish something this week, for sure!

Kiddos are all back where they're supposed to be for schools - just got back in, in fact. Lots of moving prep accomplished this week. No sewing, though. Hope you got more done than I did!
