Welcome to the Link-Up for BOMs Away Mondays!

We'd love to see the BOM you're working on lately.
This week's link-up is at the bottom of this post.

Today's breath of freshness comes from the Ruffled Roses project. Tell you what - these BOMs from The Quilt Show are a lot of work (this is the 2011 set)! Going to be super fantastic, though.

Got the first half of Month 2 finished. It's at 24" now. That's not a striped fabric - it's a 1/2" peg-board border sewn of all the colors in the quilt!

The second half of Month 2 involves sewing 112 patches to create a lattice-work round. The pieces are all cut out, ready to be prepped for paper piecing. Will sneak those in throughout the month while I'm protecting Koko's eatings from his voracious house-sister. (After I trace out next week's McKenna Ryan pieces.)

And guess what?!  Scott sprayed the glue for me so I could put together a design wall. We just used styrofoam sheets from furniture packaging and some Pellon fusible fleece that's been around for about 5 years. Good to see that stuff become actively useful finally!

I'm using it more as an inspiration board than a design wall since its location is behind the sewing desks. Love having it up, though. For now I'm populating it with BOM pieces to keep me on track.

It started snowing today, and while I was snapping some shots for this week's post, these cuties all came to scavenge in the birds' mess.

The closest little guy had to get even closer to check out what I was doing. Can't have it look too obvious, though. . .

Love those bushy tails all puffed out for the cold!

Oh!!  I forgot the fun part! I got my Feb. Block Swap Adventure from Debbie in Tennessee. It's so gorgeous!

And she included a quarter-yard of 30's fabric to help jump-start a collection for a 30's quilt in the future. How sweet is that?!

What have you guys done on BOMs or interval projects lately? Weeklies are welcome along with regular projects that you’ve broken into monthly units, and –of course- true BOMs.   Share your eye candy and show off your progress since the last time you linked up! There are some wonderful monthly and weekly projects going on out there.

  1. So glad you have a design wall, even if it is an inspiration wall. Yours looks sorta like mine right now... a reminder of all the blocks I need to make and quilt tops to put together! Yikes!

  10. I finished an applique block from my Anna's Garden BOM. It was going to be a BOM for the week but it's working out more like BOM for the Month - although this BOM block turned out BOM for a Quarter, LOL. Love your projects! PS I couldn't seem to get the link for this post so had to use your general link in my post for this month of BOMS Away. Hmm.

  11. I just discovered your blog and I'll have to say I am blown away by all your ongoing projects and the way you track them. Your ruffled roses is beautiful and worth all the time you spent on it. What amazes me too is how you get the little quilt boxes show your progress on the left sidebar - Rainbow Jane and My Affairs of the heart. I would love to do that with my BOM and maybe that would encourage me to get moving on them. Thanks for the wonderful inspirations and beautiful eye candies on your blog. I have become a fan and follower.
