BOMs Away - Let's Go on a Beachwalk!

Welcome to the link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!
Where we share what we're doing on a BOM-type project
so they don't stall out in UFO-land!
(Linky at the bottom.)

Hi!  Check it out!

I finished ALL the trapunto work for Devon & Cory's "Beachwalk" quilt!

I also got the backing fabric washed and ironed, ready to cut and seam tomorrow. . .

. . . and get loaded on the frame. Time for the "real" quilting work to begin!

So, the bits of quilting done already in the center have pulled in just enough to put a little fullness in the borders that didn't use to be there. No biggie. I'll just need to address that as I work through the stabilization round of the quilting. It's only when I'm going to be doing pantograph work that these can be a real pain.

Woohoo!!   Let's go!!  :D

How about you? Has any BOM type work been happening there?
Sure would love to see!

Kate over at Katie Mae Quilts has joined me in hosting this meet-up,
and linking up from either end puts you on the party at both sides.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. WOW, that's a lot of intricate trimming that you've done for all of that trapunto! So, what kind of batting did you use for the trapunto and what kind of batting will you be layering it with on your frame? Did you secure the trapunto batting with water soluble thread on a domestic machine, or some other way before trimming away the rest of the batting? I can't wait to see what happens next with this quilt!

  2. I am glad you are comfortable with the fullness. Sometimes tight piecing or applique' can do that when the border is not.
