Quilt ADD in therapy

Other than my family, the passion of my life is quilting. An eclectic, I love a wide variety of styles and techniques encompassing both machine and hand work. I am a longarm quilter who can work for you. I enjoy any style, from pantographs to all-over to full custom, ranging from traditional to modern. I love bringing vintage tops to life and am willing to work with a challenging quilt top. Instagram: lyncc_quilts

BOMs Away - a progress pic

Welcome to the link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!
Where we share what we're doing on a BOM-type project
so they don't stall out in UFO-land!
(Linky at the bottom.)

I have had to take the last couple of weeks off from almost all my quilting activities. Rebuilt a wall, drafted a set of demo team uniform vest patterns, and got assigned 10 days ago as the chairperson to organize and manage the homestay experience of 45-50 visiting Taekwondo young athletes from South Korea for this year's U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang next month.

I do not excel in administrative work. I am too much of a tangental artist and honestly, I believe I have autistic tendencies, so I get overwhelmed with time-sensitive organizational and actionable tasks. I really don't know what Master Lee was thinking (beyond desperation) when he pressed me into accepting the position - other than that we've participated twice as a hosting family.

Fortunately, a quite capable mom from the neighboring dojang volunteered to be my co-chair, and we've just about got most things under good control. It's all on light-yellow alert now instead of blood-red urgent chaos status.

No work on the Star Crazy borders this weekend, but in the evenings I've managed to get quite far on the Nutcracker King:

BOMs Away - Nutcrackers: The Mouse King

Welcome to the link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!

so they don't stall out in UFO-land!
(Linky at the bottom.)

For those of you in the U.S., I hope you had a nice Father's Day yesterday. I was wrapped up in fostering Scott's spotlight for that and totally forgot to post BOMs Away at the normal time!

I got about halfway finished with the star border on my "Star Crazy" (no pics yet), but my share this week is block 3 for my "Classic Nutcrackers".

The Mouse King has all his applique now!

These guys are moving quickly through my evening stitch times, and while I feel a little guilty that my other hand-applique projects are being neglected, I'm taking advantage of the momentum that's rolling for this one - I may just have #4 finished to share next week! Saturday I spent a couple hours going through my scrap bins and stash to pull fabrics for the next 4 nutcrackers so I have the option to keep riding the wave or shift back to another handwork BOM when the fourth nutcracker is finished.

BOMs Away - Star Crazy

I got the first three borders put on "Star Crazy." Although my brain knows how long it takes to apply borders, it still amazes me every time at how much clock it eats up!

6 more borders to to, two of which have to be assembled first. At least all the small stars and HSTs are already made!

BOMs Away Monday - Mostly a DIY weekend

Welcome to the link-up for BOMs Away Mondays!
Where we share what we're doing on a BOM-type project
so they don't stall out in UFO-land!
(Linky at the bottom.)

Our weekend was pretty much completely sucked up with a DIY project in the house - removed a built-in desk and cupboard that are never used and only become a mess magnet. Which left a few wall-repair issues and some electrical shifting around.

I did get to work a smidge on my Mouse King just now. I really love the back-basting method, and you can see it in action here. I like to load up several pieces at a time so the fibers relax around the upholstery thread bastings, and then they just lay right down along the needle-turn lines.  :)

This guy is going to be really cute.
